Dr. Jeff Pereverzoff – Kelowna Chiropractor
For years I suffered from severe headaches and nosebleeds that interfered with my sports and school. I had seen a host of medical doctors with no real solutions. Finally, at the age of 12 someone suggested that my parents take me to a chiropractor and after a few visits to Dr. John Pereverzoff (can you believe we are not related??) my headaches and nosebleeds were under control. Can you say “destiny”?
Actually, it is not that magical of a story. I remember that I did not like going to the chiropractor, especially putting on that gown – lucky we don’t do that these days. On the other hand though, nosebleeds at the drop of a hat did not lend to developing much of a social life for a high school student so the safe, natural alternative was good. Funny thing, most of my teenage years I thought I would be a medical doctor or a dentist. Then one day as my medical doctor was called away from the golf course for an emergency, he commented that if I wanted any kind of a sane lifestyle outside of work, I should be a Kelowna chiropractor. The rest is history.
I grew up in Grand Forks, BC and did my pre-chiropractic studies at UBC in Vancouver where I took a standard pre-med program. I had exceptional grades and was accepted to all three chiropractic schools to which I applied, Toronto, Oregon, and California. It was not much of a decision. I could spend my winters in Toronto or in California, so off I went. Actually, Palmer College of Chiropractic in Santa Clara, California had a great reputation of catering to Canadian students and their students did very well on Canadian exams. I remember my first class, human anatomy dissection lab. Three students ran from the lab as the first cadaver was brought out of the cooler and were never to be seen from again. For a moment I questioned my decision but it turned out to be one of my favorite classes. In my four years at Palmer, other classes I particularly enjoyed were human physiology and anatomy, x-ray, diagnosis, chiropractic technique, and patient care. I graduated with honors in 1992 and knew I wanted to be a Kelowna chiropractor so I set up my practice in Kelowna a few short months later.
Our vision for our practice is to build a healthier community by helping health conscious families express their full human potential. We do this not merely with chiropractic adjustments but by teaching our practice members about living a healthy lifestyle and combating the stresses that are the root of so many problems. We have a very diverse and interesting family practice. The youngest practice member was adjusted just a few days after birth and our oldest was 94. In my early years I focused on athletes and worked with the Okanagan Sun Football Team for 12 years. We see a lot of high level athletes. Once I had my own family, children became my passion and we see a lot of kids. There is not a better feeling for me than helping a colicy baby stop crying, relieving a young child’s headaches, or helping a child get off their ADHD medication. Of course, we take care of their parents as well
Heather Gauley – Laser Technician
I was born and raised in Kelowna where I graduated from the Okanagan College as both a B.C. and Canadian Certified Dental Assistant. I then moved to Calgary and worked for the City of Calgary’s local board of health in government funded dental clinics for low income families and immigrants. After spending almost 5 years there I was fortunate to have the opportunity to move back to Kelowna just weeks before my first baby was born. I continued to work in the dental field part-time for several years until I became a stay at home mom for my three children. When life at home became a little less demanding, I went back to work as a receptionist/assistant for an acupressure specialist for 5 years. Following that time, I started my own Body Talk practise, and continue to do so on a part-time basis from my home. I was introduced to Low Intensity Laser Therapy in 2012, and was fascinated with this technology and the truly amazing results it was achieving. I became a Certified Laser Therapist that same year.
Low Intensity Laser Therapy is very much a form of treatment that can be used on a wide variety of conditions. It is completely pain free and has very few contraindications which make it safe to use at any age. I have used the therapy to treat very young children, and many others of all ages through to seniors. I continue to be amazed at the results which occur. And I am overjoyed when I see day after day, such a variety of different conditions improved for so many people.
I have always worked with one goal in mind, to help people achieve an improved quality of life that takes them to a place where they can be happy and live as pain free as possible given their individual situation. I very much enjoy working with people and am always happy to assist them in any way I can. Each day, I look forward to the many I have yet to meet, and the opportunity to work with them.

Joel Cosman – Certified Rolfer
I grew up in Saint John, New Brunswick with three brothers, with a very active family. We played hockey in the winter and golf in the summer. We decided to move as a family to Vancouver Island in 1996, and start a new life on the West Coast.
After high school I travelled and worked in the construction industry before delving into the field of Biochemistry/Microbiology at the University of Victoria, where I completed my BSc in 2012. I pondered which direction I wanted to further my studies and looked into the Holistic health field as this industry has always intrigued me. Due to some old injuries that needed immediate attention, I began my own journey to get back to functional/pain free, which included weekly yoga and my first three-series intro to Rolfing. The structural changes I experienced were profound, and I couldn’t ignore this new/found modality that had such quick and long-lasting results. About a year after my first session I decided to take the plunge into the world of Structural Integration and begin my Rolfing training. I am very interested in preventative approaches to health and wellness, which aligns well with the principles of Rolfing, helping to bring a new level of body/mind awareness to people. The clinical perspective at Kelowna Family Chiropractic views the body as a self-organizing whole, and as a Rolfing practitioner we help assist the body back to a state of balance and alignment through skillful manipulation of the spinal column and soft tissue.
